This custom built SG style guitar commissioned by singer, Johnny Gill
(who also commissioned the Samuel L. Jackson guitar)
He wanted it as a gift for his 6 year old God-son (who is a budding cellist)
The body is hard rock maple, shaped to look like a cello. Pickup is a P-90 style from GFS. A wrap around tailpiece/bridge combo and all the hardware (including the frets) are gold plated. The face and filagree are airbrushed with tinted lacquer and covered with 6 coats of clear.
The cello theme is continued to the peghead which sports gold plated locking tuners. |
